Another afternoon sitting by a quiet small alcove segregated by wetland vegetation from the larger pond. Taking in the flowers, insects, coots and even a small gator. This picture was taken as I scanned the camera on a few of the isolated pickerelweed flowers. I use a tripod for almost all of my nature photography.

While exploring the Botanical Gardens in DC, I came across and interesting effect while looking through the pink hair grass. The various filaments, seeds, stems and flowers create an unusual image with the narrow field of view. This image was taken at close range with a macro lens.

While exploring the Botanical Gardens in DC, I came across and interesting effect while looking through the pink hair grass. The various filaments, seeds, stems and flowers create an unusual image with the narrow field of view. This image was taken at close range with a macro lens.
